Payments are processed securely through Stripe. When you borrow an item, the rental amount is authorised on your card but only captured once both parties confirm the handover via photo condition checks. If something goes wrong, you're protected by our dispute resolution process and the lender's payout is held until the dispute is resolved.

Every transaction includes photo documentation of the item before and after. If damage occurs, our support team reviews the evidence and handles resolution. Lenders can also set deposit amounts for high-value items for additional protection.

Trust scores are calculated from return punctuality, item condition upon return, communication responsiveness, and reviews from other users. The higher your score, the more visible your listings become and the more likely people are to lend to you.

Absolutely. All data is stored on encrypted EU/UK servers, fully GDPR compliant. We never sell your data. In-app messaging means you never need to share your phone number or address until you're ready to meet. You can export or delete all your data at any time.

We take non-returns seriously. Automated reminders are sent at the deadline, then at +2h, +12h, and +24h. After 48 hours with no response, we contact the borrower directly. After 72 hours, the item is classified as non-returned: the full deposit is captured, and our Protection Programme covers the item's value up to £10,000. We'll support you in filing a police report and the borrower's account is permanently suspended.

Borrowers can cancel for free up to 24 hours before the agreed pickup time for a full refund. Cancellations 2–24 hours before receive a 50% refund. Cancellations less than 2 hours before receive no refund (the lender is compensated for their time). If a lender cancels, the borrower receives a full refund plus a £5 goodwill credit, and the lender receives a trust score penalty.

Deposits are a hold on the borrower's payment method — not an actual charge. The lender sets the deposit amount (we recommend 20–50% of the item's value). The hold is placed when the booking is confirmed and released 48 hours after a successful return with no disputes. If damage occurs, the deposit can be partially or fully charged to cover repair or replacement costs.

Safety is core to our design. Every user is identity-verified before they can borrow items over £25. We recommend meeting at public locations (cafes, community centres), and you can share your live location with a trusted contact during handovers. Both parties must confirm the handover in-app with timestamps and GPS coordinates logged. For high-value items, consider meeting at a well-populated public space. You can also communicate entirely through the app — no need to share personal phone numbers.

Prohibited items include: weapons and ammunition, illegal substances, hazardous materials, counterfeit or stolen goods, items requiring professional licensing to operate (medical devices, etc.), live animals, vehicles, and items with active safety recalls. Listings are moderated automatically and manually. Violations result in listing removal and potential account suspension.

Lenders are paid within 3 business days of a confirmed return with no open disputes. Payment goes directly to your linked bank account via Stripe. If a dispute is opened within 24 hours of return, the payout is held until the dispute is resolved. Lenders keep 85% of the rental price on all transactions.

We charge a 15% platform fee on the rental price (taken from the lender's side) and a 12% service fee added to the borrower's total. These fees fund payment processing, our Protection Programme, dispute resolution, identity verification, platform development, and customer support. There are no hidden fees — the total is always shown before you confirm a booking.

Complete 10 or more successful transactions (borrows or loans) with a trust score of 4.8 or above. You'll also need Level 3 verification (photo ID + address verified). Trusted Members earn a visible badge, can skip deposits on items under £100, get priority placement in search results, and access exclusive listings. Your status is reviewed quarterly to ensure it's maintained.
